Publisher of Travelogue magazine, Ayo Omotoso, has said that the winner of the upcoming maiden edition of the Miss Beach Beautiful Pageant will go home with a million naira and a new car. She will also be involved in activities that propagate tourism. Omotoso said this while unveiling the criteria for participating in the pageant slated for December 21, 2013.
According to him, the project aims at showcasing the real African womanhood and beauty, adding that it will hold at the Elegushi Beach, a private tourist facility in Lekki, Lagos.
He says, “It is aimed at promoting beach tourism in Nigeria and Africa. It is a marriage of African beauty and the allure of the beach. It is also a way of promoting tourism amongst the younger generation, as knowledge of tourism elements in Nigeria would play a huge part in determining the Queen’. The winner of the contest will take home a star prize of N1m and a brand new car, while also being actively involved in tourism propagation around the world and in the country during her one year reign.
The first runner up will pick up a cheque of N750, 000 while the second runner-up will go home with N500,000 among other consolation prizes. The contest is open  to young ladies between the ages of 18 and 25 years across the six geo-political zones of the country.”
